Black Friday...

My mom and I decided to try shopping on the infamous BLACK FRIDAY...  So, Thursday night, we sat around her kitchen table and made out a plan... Joel was laughing at us... He said we looked like two War Generals making out our war plan...

And we were...We figured out what we needed from each store, what time each store opened, and how long the sale was on for... Then, we listed each store in the order that we needed to be there... It was all layed out and we were set...

So, Friday morning, we left her house at 5:30am, and headed straight over to Old Navy... I found a really cute outfit there that I wanted for Pudgie, and it was only $5.00...  When we walked in, the line looked kind-of long... Mom and I had decided that in this case, one of us would stand in line and the other would shop... So, Mom took off to find the end of the line, and I took off to the childrens section...  I got to the back of the store, and realized that the line was all the way back there and starting to wrap back towards the front of the store... About that time, Mom called and said, "Forget it... This line really isn't worth $5.00"... So we left, crossed that place off our list, and headed to the second place...

We pulled up at Radio Shack and that place was busting at the seams... I was in awe at just how many people were out at this time of morning...We walked in and had to push our way through to the registers...  There was no ryhme or reason to the lines in that store... It didn't matter who you asked, EVERYONE was at the end of the line... So somehow, we actually were in and out of there pretty quickly... On to the next place...

Every place we went yesterday was like this... Everyone fighting to save some money, or I think in some cases, make some money... Like when we went over to Burlington Coat Factory... They had Ugg boots on sale for $15.00...  I wanted 2 pairs... One for me, from my kiddos... LOL... And one pair for my sister... The store opened at 7:00 and we were there... All the boots were gone by 7:06...

People were just grabbing boots... No one was checking sizes or anything... Maybe 4 or 5 people got any... There were people pushing baskets with 12 pairs outta that store... Betcha could get them on E-bay... You know... It's always better when you win it...

Any way... We went to Toys R Us... I only got one item on my list from there... Everything was sold out... I find that happened a lot...

For the most part though, we got most of the things we went for... I had a blast... This was my first Black Friday, and I really enjoyed it... Next year, I think I'll try to do it again... It was a great day... But man, I sure was exhausted when I got home...
