scary & thankful

So, I am driving on a road (with Tyler in the back) that I have driven on a million times. As I was going up a hill, I pressed the gas, so I could get up it faster. Then, when I was going down the hill, I pushed on the brakes, and NOTHING happened! I was on the phone with William, and he told be to push the emergency break. So, I pushed the emergency, and NOTHING happened! So, I called Mike, because I thought that maybe I was pushing it wrong (Yes, I know NOTHING about cars, and how they work). At this point, I was very scared, because I was approaching a stop sign, and I would have to stop, or keep moving right across SR 62 (which is a VERY BUSY road). Mike kept telling me to push the emergency. I just kept moving. There was a car behind me, but luckily, no one infront of me. As I was passing the stop sign, I quickly said, "God, please don't let any cars be coming" (There is ALWAYS cars there!). Amazing!!! We made it across!!!! So, we had one block to go, before we dead ended into SR 241, another busy road. Even if there was no traffic again, I was going to fast to be able to make the turn. Mike instructed me to shut the van (yes, I have so many kids, I have a van) off, so I did, and it stopped. FINALLY!!!! Mike said he was on the way, and we hung up. I sat there, shaking and crying, and thanking the Lord, that we were alive, and unharmed. I don't think I have ever been so scared in my life! And, so thankful! And my mom said what is true... "Well, God says it isn't time for you and Tyler, to be dead, or injured"!

So, were the brakes bad? No. The gas peddle had gotton stuck (all the way down to the floor), when I pushed it to go up that hill. The engine was going so fast, the brakes couldn't stop it!

Mike has fixed it, but I am still on strike from the van!
